PHILIPPINE FOOTBALL LEGENDS =Anastacio Co= Co was another Fil-Chinese football legend. He stood out in the '60s, battling the likes of fellow fil-chi football stars Pepe Teh and Larry Chua as a striker for the Cheng Hua Tigers, the No. 2 Fil-Chinese club behind the Lions FC that became dominant from 1967 to 1972. An outstanding player awardee of the PFF in 2004 for his exploits in the '60s, Co, who played center forward, was a member of various Philippine teams that played in the Merdeka Cup, Pesta Sukan and other international tournaments but could not play for the national team in official FIFA events because he was a Chinese national. He was also with the Philippine squad that lost 6-0 to the visiting Brazilian club Cruzeiro in 1972 in what was probably the most famous friendly match ever, with 22,000 trooping to the Rizal Stadium, the biggest crowd since the 1966 Asian Youth tournament, to see World Cup star Tostão, and fellow World Cuppers Dirceu Lopes, Ze Carlos, Piazza and Fontana. As a member of the Cheng Hua Tigers, he played alongside the likes of Penn McElroy and Quentin Koh, William Ty, Octavio Sy and the team was coached by the legendary Sy Peng Sam. The Tiger FC where the archrivals of the Meralco team during that era. In Cheng Hua's heyday, they won three National Open titles and three Lobregat Cups, one Arsenio Lacson Cup and other tropies also, and Anastacio Co was a big part of that virtual all-star Tigers team of the '60s and early '70s. {{华裔}} {{DEFAULTSORT:Co,Anastacio}} [[Category:已退役]] [[Category:菲律宾华裔球员]]
